The Women's March on London

On Saturday the 21st of January, I headed to London to take photographs of the Women’s March on London. Around 100,000 people attended to protest against Trump’s inauguration, and fascism in general.

Stockholm in November

For my (now) fiancé's birthday, I surprised him with plane tickets to Sweden. It's a country we've never been to before, but with its environmentally-friendly, feminist ethics and its beautiful scenery, it was one I'd always wanted to visit. So I booked us some (very) cheap tickets to Stockholm, the capital city, and off we went.

The Little Horse Box

After relaunching my photography business, I was on Twitter one day and spotted that a local start-up, The Little Horse Box, was looking for a photographer. I immediately registered my interest and was told that they were launching their website, and were setting up a photoshoot in order to get images for their website and press release.

Bond no.28 Tombland

I was recently hired by Bond no.28 Tombland, a Norwich cocktail bar, to shoot a 6-minute video to play in the background in their bar. I came into the club 3 separate times - once for a Speakeasy Sunday event, and then twice over the August bank holiday weekend.

Parallel Photoshoot

When we decided on the theme for the next issue of Parallel, I instantly had an image in my head of what I wanted the cover to look like. Throughout university, I loved playing with colour in the studio, and making really bright portraits.

Norwich Fashion Jam

On Monday, I headed to Norwich Fashion Jam to take some photographs. After a 24-hour challenge in which the participants were given access to clothing and scraps donated by Age UK and had to create new garments out of them, the event culminated in a show at Norwich Castle Museum amidst the exhibitions and stuffed animals.

Photoshoot with Charlotte

Today I met up with my good friend Charlotte Lipscombe, who has taken photographs of me and my boyfriend in the past (blog post here). She’s a member of the Parallel team and we’ve collaborated before, so when she agreed to model for me I was really excited!

Lomography 85mm Petzval Lens

A couple of weeks ago, the opportunity came up to purchase a lens I had wanted for a really long time at a massive discount (thanks to my job): the Lomography 85mm f2.2 Petzval lens. The newly designed Petzval lens was released in 2013, funded by a Kickstarter campaign, and is based on an Austrian lens which originally came out in 1840.

Peach Club

For Parallel's fifth issue, I wanted to interview a local riot grrrl punk feminist band, Peach Club. I met up with them on a chilly, icy day at a local park and got some photographs, before heading into a nearby diner to conduct the interview.

On Saturday I went to the #EndAusterityNow demonstration to protest against our current government, their planned cuts, and austerity measures. Here are some of my photos from the day.

We Are Norwich

A couple of months ago it was announced that the EDL (English Defense League) were planning on setting up a protest in Norwich town centre. The aim of their demo was to protest against the city council's decision to ban Pastor Alan Clifford of Norwich Reformed Church for promoting and distributing anti-Islam leaflets.

London Fashion Weekend

Yesterday, after staying up all night and then getting on a 4am coach, I was given the brilliant opportunity to take photographs at London Fashion Weekend, the aftermath of London Fashion Week that gives the general public the opportunity to watch catwalk shows and shop for designer goodies, as part of the Canon team.

Catwalks at Graduate Fashion Week

Not only did my AAA pass at Graduate Fashion Week allow me to access a lot of areas that were out of bounds for the general public, it also meant that I could get into the catwalk shows as a member of the press, blag a front-row seat, and photograph away to my heart's content.
