Vivienne and Jon's Wedding at Century Club, Soho
Vivienne & Jon’s wedding was an absolute showstopper of a day, filled with personal touches, emotion and singing – so much singing! As enthusiasts and professionals in the creative, musical and performance industries, these two took every opportunity to showcase their talents as well as those of their closest friends.
The day began with Viv, Jon and their respective parties getting ready at an apartment around the corner from their venue. Once the final touches were in place, and Viv was in her gorgeous olive-green bespoke dress, she made her way through to the living room for her first look with Jon – and so began the first of many tearful moments.
Because the couple wanted to spend as much time with their guests as possible, they opted to take their couple photos before the day began. We began by walking down the road to the entrance to China Town, to set off some smoke bombs for a truly epic group photo, before their friends headed to the venue. After a walk around Soho to get some beautiful portraits, it was time to enter Century Club and get set up for the ceremony.
Rather than walk down the aisle and meet at the end for their ceremony, Viv and Jon were in place at the top of the aisle as their guests came pouring in, ready to serenade with some of their favourite songs. The ceremony, led by celebrant Brian Lobel, began soon after, with the guests that hadn’t been able to make it to London watching over Zoom, and some of their closest friends taking to the stage midway through to sing their rendition of Nine People's Favourite Thing from Title Of Show.
After the two had said their vows, it was time to head upstairs to the rooftop terrace for drinks, canapés, confetti and group shots against a backdrop of central London. It wasn’t long until the performances started again; this time in the form of a flash choir singing Carly Rae Jepson’s Cut to the Feeling. Back indoors, their guests were called to their seats and food was served, with speeches in between each course.
All that was left to do was for Viv and Jon to cut their cake and dance their first dance – which was of course choreographed and rehearsed! Their guests soon joined them on the floor, and they danced the night away.
I had so much fun at this amazing wedding, and it was wonderful to see a couple that were so in sync with one another. Sensitive and creative with fab senses of humour, they are a match made in heaven, and I am overjoyed that I was a part of their incredible day. Huge congratulations to Vivienne & Jon!
