Emily and Ashley's Wedding at The Georgian Townhouse, Norwich
Emily and Ashley’s wedding at The Georgian Townhouse in Norwich was the first wedding in over a year where guests were allowed to mingle inside. After 14 months of Covid-19 restrictions that required weddings to take place outside, things were finally loosening up and looking more, well, ‘normal’. And I was so happy for this wonderful couple. Their wedding take took place the day before their 10-year anniversary - a milestone in any relationship and a day that meant so much to Emily and Ashley.
Their wedding began at The Georgian Townhouse, a gorgeous Norwich city centre restaurant and hotel that I always enjoy shooting (and eating) at. After walking down the aisle with her mother, Emily joined Ashley at the front and they said their vows to one another in front of their closest friends and families. Drinks, canapes and games were enjoyed in the garden, before we headed to The Plantation Garden (another favourite) for some formal group shots and those all-important just-married portraits.
Back at The Georgian Townhouse, the couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious meal, after which came the speeches - and some surprise speeches from Emily’s younger brothers, which brought a tear to everyone’s eyes. We wandered outside as it got dusky to get some more couple photos, before the two handed out sparklers. Sparks flew (literally) through the air as Emily and Ashley waved their sparklers around amidst their nearest and dearest, and it was such a beautiful, magical moment. Once the last sparkler had burned out, it was back inside to enjoy some cake, pizza and the musical stylings of Jazmine Honey Banks and Joe Bailey.
Emily and Ashley’s wedding was one that filled me with happiness. They, along with their friends and families, were welcoming, funny and a blast to spend the day with, and the wedding was full to the brim with love and laughter.
