Diana and Jordan's Wedding at Estalagem Riabela, Portugal

Diana and Jordan’s wedding was one I had been looking forward to for so long. Having originally been booked for 2021, their wedding ended up being postponed due to Jordan being involved in a life-threatening accident at the end of 2020. Therefore, when their day finally came around, I knew just how much it meant to this amazing couple to be able to celebrate in Diana’s home country surrounded by all of their loved ones.

Because their wedding was taking place near Porto, Portugal, I travelled over there two days early in order to get an understanding of the area and the hotel in which the celebrations were taking place. It was such a stunning area: beside the hotel was the Aveiro Lagoon, filled with traditional fishing boats, whilst the nearby town of Torreira offered incredible beaches looking out on the Atlantic Ocean.

Their day kicked off with both parties getting ready separately, before we made our way to the small chapel, Capela de Santa Luzia, in which the ceremony was taking place. As we entered the chapel, singers serenaded the guests, and it was truly beautiful. The ceremony was emotional, with Diana and Jordan saying their vows and exchanging rings as their nearest and dearest watched on.

After some confetti and photos, it was time for the reception at Estalagem Riabela. The couple were greeted with canapés and drinks beneath the palm trees, with a gorgeous view over the lagoon. Once the room was ready, they entered, enjoying a few dances before they and their guests enjoyed some food and speeches. The room was turned around for the evening, and that was when the party really started. Diana and Jordan’s guests were on the dance floor all night long, with the only break being for the sparkler exit and cake cutting outside.

I genuinely had an amazing time being a part of this wedding, and am so grateful to Diana and Jordan for including me in their plans. It was an adventure, but it was also such a special and emotional day full of love and good vibes. Everyone was there to celebrate their love, and it was beautiful to witness.
