Norwich Fashion Week - The Retailer's Show

Norwich Fashion Week kicked off last night with The Retailer's Show sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Norwich. Thanks to my workplace, I'd been in touch with Kerry Curl (aka Missy Vintage), who is on the social media team of Norwich Fashion Week as well as the organiser of the Vintage Show. She was looking for a photographer to shoot the VIP area at Open for the duration of Norwich Fashion Week, and I happily agreed.

The VIP area is situated just above the photographer's pit, with a great view of the runway. On arrival, VIP guests receive a complimentary drink, which, last night, was a G&T from Adnams. There were also nibbles available.

Against one wall is a pop-up photobooth: it was my job to photograph VIP guests against the background. The VIP area is curated and designed by Curious Fair, as is the photobooth's background, and they'd also included some custom-made masks for people to put on.

Because I was photographing the VIP area and photobooth, Kerry had also given me access to the photographer's pit, so that I could shoot the runway during the show itself. I've always enjoyed photographing fashion shows: they're super exciting, and always have really creative lighting and music to fit the theme. Last night's was no different. It featured work from Norwich's local fashion retailers, which included some big brands. Here are some of my images (click to expand).

I had a great time photographing The Retailer's Show last night. I'm going to be attending every Norwich Fashion Week event, so will be updating daily. Consider this week to be a Norwich Fashion takeover of my blog! Tonight's event is the Dipple & Conway Hair and Makeup show, which promises to be creative and exciting. I'll be back up in the VIP area before the show and during the interval, and will be in the pit during the show.

Are you going to any of the Norwich Fashion Week shows? Let me know!
